COORDINATOR / HOUSING OPERATIONS & ASSIGNMENTS

Salary: $43,000–$50,000 annually
Position Summary
Central Michigan University seeks a Coordinator of Housing Operations & Assignments to support the daily operations of a housing system serving more than 6,000 beds. Reporting to the Assistant Director of Residence Life for Housing Assignments, this position coordinates housing assignments, manages operational processes, oversees residential transitions, and collaborates with campus partners to ensure efficient housing operations and excellent student service.
Key Responsibilities
Coordinate residence hall and apartment housing assignments.
Manage waitlists, special population assignments, and student communications.
Process housing-related financial transactions, including break housing, move-ins, move-outs, and account adjustments.
Coordinate spring, summer, and fall housing transitions.
Manage early arrival processes and year-end damage billing.
Coordinate residential card access, key distribution, and access support.
Develop and maintain operational procedures and documentation.
Plan and support move-in and move-out logistics.
Collaborate with campus partners on housing operations and events.
Provide after-hours on-call support for residential access issues.
Assist with Residence Life marketing, recruitment, orientation, and special events.
Required Qualifications
Bachelor's degree or equivalent combination of education and experience.
Two years of university housing or residence life experience.
Valid Michigan driver's license with ability to operate university vehicles.
Strong organizational, administrative, customer service, and technology skills.
Proficiency with Microsoft Word and Excel.
Demonstrated cultural competency and communication skills.
Ability to work evenings and weekends as needed.
Preferred Qualifications
Supervisory or management experience in higher education.
Experience with StarRez, Genetec Access Control, and SAP.
Active involvement in higher education professional organizations.
Schedule
Monday–Friday, 8:00 a.m.–5:00 p.m.
Evenings and weekends as needed.
