Job Description
We are seeking a dedicated and mechanically inclined Press Operator to join our team. You will be responsible for setting up and operating the Brake Press machine to bend, form, and shape materials according to customer specifications. The position requires working M-TH from 5:00 AM to 3:30 PM and Fridays from 5:00 AM to 12:00 PM, with current shifts extending to 11 hours daily in the Brake area.
Responsibilities
Set up and operate the Brake Press machine to bend, form, and shape metal according to blueprints and customer specifications.
Produce quality parts within customer specifications.
Perform quality checks using precise measuring instruments such as calipers, micrometers, and protractors.
Troubleshoot equipment and programming to identify and correct root causes of non-conforming parts.
Increase production efficiency by reducing setup time, optimizing machine usage, and maintaining quality.
Adhere to documentation procedures.
Complete necessary training and certification to operate hi-lo equipment safely and efficiently.
Follow safety protocols and maintain a clean and organized work environment.
Perform other duties as assigned by management.
Essential Skills
Proficient math skills including calculations with whole numbers, fractions, and decimals.
Ability to read and interpret blueprints.
Knowledge of bending, forming, and rolling techniques.
Ability to perform well in a fast-paced environment with a sense of urgency.
Acute attention to detail and excellent problem-solving skills.
Effective communication skills and ability to work collaboratively in a team environment and independently.
Additional Skills & Qualifications
High School Diploma or GED required.
1+ year of experience in metal fabrication and/or Brake Press operation.
Hi-lo certification may be needed and requires a valid driver's license.

Work Environment
The work environment requires wearing steel-toed boots/shoes and appropriate attire such as jeans and dark T-shirts, avoiding shorts and tank tops. The role involves standing, walking, and performing physical tasks such as bending and twisting for extended periods, with the ability to lift up to 50 lbs occasionally.

Pay and Benefits
The pay range for this position is $18.00 - $22.00/hr.
