Product Engineer wanted in Battle Creek, Michigan to be responsible for using knowledge of RFQ drawings technical requirements, preparing PFC and review with CFT teams for finalizing the process flow. Apply Design for Manufacturability (DFM) principles to evaluate product designs and produce summary reports to support engineering and quoting activities. Responsible for specification review, test fixture design review, master sample verification testing review with LAB and report PV test to customer. Conduct product redesign proposals based on Diecasting DFM, rejection reduction, and quality improvement. Support the design of die cast dies, including: Runner, Cooling, Vacuum systems, etc. to ensure best part quality and optimize yield. Interact with customer engineering to review the DFM analysis to ensure the product is manufacturable. Review the technical challenges with CFT team, middle management and top managements for getting approval for quote submissions process. Provide product conceptual design support to the customer. Prepare and review customer and internal technical review documents. Review customer part validation testing requirements and support the analysis of the testing result and presentation to the customer. Support a cross-functional team in the feasibility evaluation and implementation of engineering changes. Suggest changes to OEMs regarding issues impacting product integrity. Engineering change feasibility confirmation to customer after discussing with internal team. Act as a lead auditor to support all responsible areas, support customer communication to facilitate and improve product quality. Utilize product data management system to maintain CAD data for products, tooling, fixtures, manufacturing equipment and facilities. Produce 2D product, tooling, fixture, equipment, and facility drawings to support manufacturing, quality, and engineering activities. Transfer CAD data to and from suppliers and customers and maintain records of all transfers. Import CAD data from suppliers and customers, and repair errors in models as required. Translate CAD data to neutral file formats as required. Support continuous improvement activities through effective use of 3D and 2D CAD to propose product design changes, tooling improvements. Support the design of die seals for best vacuum performance and leak prevention.
