Position Summary
The Barista is responsible for creating exceptional customer experiences by preparing high-quality coffee, espresso, tea, and specialty beverages while maintaining a clean, organized, and welcoming environment. The ideal candidate is friendly, dependable, works well in a fast-paced setting, and enjoys interacting with customers.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
- Welcome customers with a friendly and positive attitude.
- Take customer orders accurately using the point-of-sale (POS) system.
- Prepare coffee, espresso drinks, tea, smoothies, energy drinks, and other menu items according to recipes and quality standards.
- Maintain consistency in beverage preparation and presentation.
- Handle cash, credit card, and mobile transactions accurately.
- Maintain cleanliness of the coffee bar, dining area, and food preparation areas.
- Restock cups, syrups, milk, coffee beans, food items, and supplies throughout the shift.
- Monitor inventory levels and notify management when supplies are running low.
- Follow all food safety, sanitation, and health department regulations.
- Operate espresso machines, grinders, blenders, brewers, and other equipment safely.
- Assist with opening and closing procedures.
- Work collaboratively with team members to ensure efficient service.
- Resolve customer concerns professionally and escalate issues to management when necessary.
- Promote seasonal beverages, food items, and loyalty programs.
Qualifications
- Previous barista, restaurant, retail, or customer service experience preferred but not required.
- Willingness to learn drink recipes and operating procedures.
- Excellent communication and customer service skills.
- Positive attitude and strong work ethic.
- Ability to multitask in a fast-paced environment.
- Dependable with reliable attendance.
