MTH Installation LLC. is looking to fill 15 Landscaping and Groundskeeping Worker positions in Sanilac County, MI. This is a temporary, full-time seasonal position and we are looking to fill 15 job openings for employment from 10/1/2026 to 12/20/2026.
Additional Worksites: Worksites are in Sanilac, Huron, St. Clair, Tuscola, & Lapeer counties in Michigan.
Job Description:
Duties: Duties include dormant season installation of trees, shrubs, or flowers in the appropriate design pattern. Unloading materials, digging holes for root systems, properly covering the holes and sometimes sod laying, planting grass seed or connecting irrigation. Leaf removal, lawn seed and straw, lawn aeration, planting shrubbery, digging, raking, and installation of mortarless segmental concrete masonry wall units. Workers may gather and remove litter, water seeded lawns, trees, plants and prune or trim trees, shrubs, or hedges. Workers may operate powered equipment, and drive vehicles to customer locations. Duties may include sod laying, mowing, watering plants & lawns, plant transplanting, fertilizing, digging, raking, sprinkler installation. Employees will be digging trenches no larger than 6 - 12 inches deep and 6 - 12 inches wide with shovels and hand tools. These trenches are used to hold tubing used in the installation of irrigation systems. All the trimming/pruning will take place on the ground. The workers will not perform any pruning or trimming activities above ground level. The worker may transport other workers to and from job sites on occasion, however this will not be their primary job duty. Workers may operate powered landscaping equipment, including mowers, edgers, blowers, weed eaters, trimmers, small tractors, and similar landscaping equipment. Workers may drive company pickup trucks and similar light-duty company vehicles, to and from customer job sites. Workers may occasionally transport other workers to and from job sites; however, transportation of workers is not a primary job duty. Workers may also occasionally transport landscaping materials, tools, and equipment to and from job sites, including mulch, potted plants, shovels, rakes, mowers, blowers, and trimmers. No hazardous materials will be transported by workers. All vehicles and equipment operated weigh less than 26,000 pounds GVW, including any attached trailers or transported materials.
Requirements:
Must be able to lift 50 lbs., repetitive movements, extensive pushing/pulling, extensive walking, frequent stooping, exposure to extreme temperatures. 3 months’ experience required.
Terms & Conditions of Employment:
$19.93/hr., at 40 hours a week, Mon-Fri, 7:00 AM to 4:00 PM (schedule varies). Overtime rate of pay is at least $29.90per hour. Overtime will be available as needed. Higher pay and/or other incentives based on performance.
In accordance with applicable Michigan state law, Earned Sick Time Act 338, employers are required to provide earned sick time to their employees. The amount of paid sick leave provided may vary depending on the size of the business.
Inbound Transportation:
Transportation: From the place from which the worker has come to work, whether in the U.S or abroad, to the place of employment, if the worker completes 50% of the work contract period, the employer will provide advance payment of transportation and subsistence from the place of recruitment to the place of employment.
Outbound Transportation:
Upon completion of the work contract or where the worker is dismissed earlier, employer will provide or pay for worker’s reasonable cost of return transportation and subsistence back home or to the place the worker originally departed to work, except where the worker will not return due to subsequent employment with another employer. The amount of transportation payment or reimbursement will be equal to the most economical and reasonable common carrier for the distances involved.
Daily Transportation:
Employers will provide daily transportation to and from worksites.
Disclosure of daily subsistence amount
Daily subsistence will be provided at a rate of $16.78 per day during travel to a maximum of $68.00 per day with receipts.
3/4ths guarantee not required due to 2016 Omnibus:
Three- fourths guarantee: The employer guarantees to offer work for hours equal to at least three fourths of the workdays in each 12-week period of the total employment period.
Provision of tools, equipment, and supplies:
Tools, equipment and supplies: The employer will provide workers at no charge; all tools, supplies & equipment required to perform the job.
Single Work Week guarantee and frequency of pay:
Miscellaneous: The employer will use a single work week as its standard for computing wages due; The pay period is bi-weekly.
Statement of deductions from worker’s pay:
The employer will make all payroll deductions required by law and will not make any deductions, which are not required by law.
Reimbursement of border, visa and related fees:
The employer will reimburse an H-2B worker in the first work week for all visa, visa processing, border crossing, and other related fees, including those mandated by the government, incurred by the H-2B worker.
Provision of board, lodging or other facilities
The employer will not be providing housing.
