Key Responsibilities
- Site Preparation: Clean and prepare construction sites by removing debris, hazards, and trash. Dig trenches, backfill excavations, and compact earth.
- Material Handling: Load, unload, and distribute building supplies, lumber, and concrete to designated areas on the job site.
- Equipment Operation: Safely operate hand and power tools such as jackhammers, drills, saws, and cement mixers. Assist operators with larger heavy machinery.
- Site Support: Build and dismantle temporary structures like scaffolding, ramps, and barricades. Assist skilled craft workers (e.g., electricians or plumbers) as directed.
- Safety & Cleanup: Strictly follow all health and OSHA safety protocols, wear appropriate protective equipment (PPE), and maintain a clean, organized work environment.
Job Requirements & Qualifications
- Physical Stamina: Ability to perform heavy physical labor, lift up to 80-100 lbs, and stand, walk, or bend for long periods.
- Working Conditions: Capability to work outdoors in all weather conditions, including extreme heat, cold, and rain.
- Reliability: Punctuality, a strong work ethic, and reliable transportation to construction sites are mandatory.
- Experience: High school diploma or equivalent is often preferred, but many employers offer on-the-job training for enthusiastic individuals.
- Licensing: A valid driver's license is frequently required to operate company vehicles or travel to varying locations.
