Journeyman Plumber - Grand Rapids, MI
Job Description
We are seeking a skilled Journeyman Plumber to perform new construction installations of plumbing equipment for commercial projects throughout West Michigan. The role involves working with copper and PEX plumbing materials to complete installations. You will utilize hand tools and power tools to hang, solder, and thread pipe to completion. You must have the ability to read a tape measure, cut, and level piping installations.
Responsibilities
Perform installations of plumbing equipment for commercial sites.

Utilize hand tools and power tools to hang, solder, and thread pipe.
Read tape measures, cut, and level piping installations.
Ensure compliance with plumbing codes and safety standards.
Essential Skills
Ability to fit and solder copper (domestic water).
Ability to thread pipe.
General plumbing skills, including knowledge of making hangers and hanging pipes.
Possession of own hand tools such as tape measure, channel locks, drill, and level.
Comfortable working at heights, with average work around 20ft and some up to 100ft.
Possession of a vehicle and a valid driver's license.
State of Michigan Journeyman or Master Plumber license.
Leadership experience.
Additional Skills & Qualifications
Understanding of operating equipment like boom lifts, scissor lifts, and ladders.
Experience with blueprint reading and general labor tasks.
Knowledge of welding, PVC, installation, and fitting.
3+ years of experience in the commercial plumbing or pipefitting industry, working on projects such as schools, warehouses, medical centers, apartments, or community centers.

Work Environment
Work in commercial environments such as schools, warehouses, community centers, apartments, and medical buildings. Projects are primarily indoors with a roof over your head. Current projects are located in Fremont, Holland, Allegan, and Grand Rapids. The department has approximately 20 plumbers and pipefitters. Shifts start at 6am or 7am and could last 8-10 hours, with 5-10 hours of overtime possible. PPE such as steel toes or boots that go over the ankle is required, and the company provides hard hats, glasses, gloves, and power tools needed for the job.

Pay and Benefits
The pay range for this position is $30.00 - $38.00/hr.
