Position Summary:
We are seeking a detail-oriented Shipping and Receiving Clerk with strong computer skills and hands-on experience in shipping/receiving operations. The ideal candidate will also be experienced in operating a hi-lo (forklift) and capable of handling daily logistics tasks in a fast-paced environment. This role is critical to maintaining accurate inventory records, ensuring timely shipments, and supporting overall warehouse efficiency.
Key Responsibilities:
- Receive, inspect, and verify incoming shipments against packing lists or purchase orders.
- Accurately enter data into inventory and shipping systems (e.g., ERP, WMS, or shipping platforms like UPS WorldShip or FedEx).
- Prepare outgoing shipments, including labeling, packaging, and coordinating with carriers.
- Maintain organized records of received goods and shipped materials.
- Load and unload trucks using a hi-lo/forklift safely and efficiently as needed.
- Coordinate with internal departments (production, customer service, purchasing) to ensure timely material flow.
- Conduct inventory counts and assist with cycle counts as needed.
- Identify and report any damages, shortages, or discrepancies immediately.
- Maintain a clean and orderly shipping/receiving area.
- Follow all safety procedures and participate in safety programs.
Qualifications:
- High school diploma or equivalent required.
- Minimum 2 years of experience in shipping and receiving.
- Proficient computer skills, including Microsoft Excel, Word, and shipping software.
- Experience using inventory management or ERP systems is a plus.
- Valid forklift license and at least 1 year of hi-lo (forklift) driving experience required.
- Strong attention to detail and organizational skills.
- Ability to lift up to 50 lbs and stand/walk for extended periods.
- Excellent communication and teamwork skills.
Schedule and Compensation:
- Shift: Monday through Friday, 7:30 AM – 4:00 PM
Pay: $19.00/hr
