POSITION TYPE: Full time. Direct Hire. 100% Travel to client sites.
PAY: $21.00 - $25.00 per hour based on years of experience. Hourly position with OT paid at time and one half.
TRAVEL: Expenses such as flights, lodging and rentals are coordinated and paid for directly by the company. Mileage reimbursement and per diem included. Full benefits package is provided.
Requirements of the Field Service Technician:
- Experience or willingness to travel full time (100% travel) and complete work nationwide.
- Own and maintain a vehicle that is reliable and suited for interstate travel.
- Own and maintain a basic set of hand tools (wrenches and sockets <1”/25mm, screwdrivers, etc.).
- Ability to read mechanical drawings, architectural blueprints, and equipment installation and service manuals.
- Familiarity with and ability to use powered industrial equipment and hand tools including:
Fork trucks, aerial lifts, pipe threaders, roll groovers, and cordless power tools.
- Good problem solving and critical thinking skills.
- Possess math abilities related to the position.
- Possess foundational electrical knowledge (<600V power distribution, and low voltage control) for safety.
- Willingness to adhere to all internal and customer quality and safety rules and expectations.
- Capability to perform physical tasks, including manual lifting, and willingness to work in industrial conditions.
- Flexibility to work nights and weekends/variable schedules as necessary.
Required Experience and/or Education:
- Education: High school diploma or GED.
- Certification: Technical certification or vocational training in an industrial trade or mechanical technology.
- Experience: 2-7 years of relevant experience in a mechanical service industry, or industrial maintenance environment.
Duties of the Industrial Field Service Technician:
- Travel to client sites to install, troubleshoot, repair and maintain machinery and systems.
- Act as a primary onsite technical representative, ensuring equipment functions properly to minimize expensive downtime for manufacturing and industrial clients.
- Execute mechanical equipment, rigging, installations, disassembly, relocation, and services to meet client varied needs, while upholding quality standards.
- Use diagnostic tools, manufacturer manuals, and schematics to pinpoint mechanical, electrical or software malfunctions.
- Dismantle equipment, replace defective components, reassemble, and test units to guarantee they operate at optimal capacity.
- Perform preventative maintenance by conducting routine service checks, calibrations, and inspections to prevent future equipment failures.
- Eqipment installation: setup, configure, and calibrate new industrial machinery and hardware components according to precise company specifications.
- Build positive customer relations with clients by acting professionally and explaning technical issues in easy to understand terms.
