The North America Cockpit Senior Buyer is a strategic buying role in support of the Body and Interior Purchasing group. The Senior Buyer will have responsibility to execute the sourcing and management of the commodities responsible. The position will provide comprehensive oversight from beginning to end for all internal and external supplier partner activities as it relates to planning, strategy, sourcing, contract management, cost management, quality, and supply. Additional responsibility for developing and executing the commodity strategy, jointly with engineering & global Purchasing team. Regular reporting out to leadership, e.g. monthly budget status and weekly sourcing tables.
Basic Qualifications:
Bachelor degree in Business, Engineering or related field
Minimum 5 years of related industry work experience
Ability to travel up to 20% globally
Proficient in using Microsoft Office Suite Software
Proven ability to manage multiple projects and tasks and results driven creative problem solving
Strong interpersonal skills and the ability to work effectively in a cross-functional team
Excellent verbal and written communication skills
High Energy / Flexible / Adaptable / Dynamic / "can-do" attitude
Proactive and collaborative approach to problem solving
Preferred Qualifications:
Experience in a technical or manufacturing organization
Experience with the commodities listed, commercial and/or technical: Interior parts
Comfortable and well-practiced in a global team matrix environment, with a focus on cross-functional, virtual team relationship building
Knowledge of quality systems including Six Sigma, ISO/TS16949, QS-9000 - FEMA - SPC & 8-D Quality Systems, APQP Process
