The Advance Group has partnered with a leading manufacturing company in Westland, MI to hire 2 Grinder Operators for a hands-on metal casting and foundry production environment.
You will be responsible for finishing and inspecting metal castings to ensure they meet customer and engineering specifications.
This is a strong opportunity for individuals who are detail-oriented, safety-focused, and comfortable working in a physically demanding industrial environment.
Job Responsibilities – Grinder Operator
As a Grinder Operator, you will:
- Grind and finish castings to customer and engineering specifications.
- Operate hand tools and equipment including hand drills, air hammers, and bandsaws.
- Inspect finished parts and verify dimensions meet quality standards.
- Safely handle and move castings and materials throughout the production process.
- Identify and report quality concerns, equipment issues, and safety hazards.
- Follow all company safety policies and PPE requirements.
Required Skills & Experience
To be successful in this Grinder Operator role, you should have:
- Ability to safely operate hand and power tools
- Strong attention to detail and quality standards
- Experience in manufacturing, foundry, or metal finishing preferred
- Ability to perform physically demanding work
- Ability to stand and walk for long periods
- Ability to lift up to 50 lbs regularly
- Comfort working in an industrial production environment
Work Environment
This is a foundry and metal casting production facility, which includes:
- Fast-paced industrial manufacturing environment
- Exposure to heat, noise, and metal fabrication processes
- Strong emphasis on safety and PPE compliance
- Team-based production work
Schedule
- Monday–Friday
- 6:00 AM – 2:30 PM
- Voluntary overtime available on Saturdays
Pay & Growth Opportunity
- Starting pay: $15.50/hr
- Increase to $16.00/hr upon hire-in
