Position Summary
Custodians are responsible for maintaining the cleanliness, appearance, and overall upkeep of assigned facilities. This position performs a variety of cleaning and maintenance tasks to ensure a safe, sanitary, and welcoming environment for employees, visitors, and customers.
Schedule
1st Shift Monday – Friday (Hours may vary based on facility needs)
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
- Sweep, dust, dust mop, damp mop, and vacuum floors.
- Extract carpets and perform floor care, including stripping and waxing floors.
- Collect and remove trash and recyclables.
- Clean and sanitize restrooms, locker rooms, and common areas.
- Clean desks, walls, furniture, doors, countertops, chalkboards, whiteboards, blinds, and light fixtures.
- Clean interior and exterior glass, windows, and entryways.
- Maintain areas within 10 feet of building entrances.
- Assist with snow and ice removal as needed.
- Follow established cleaning procedures and safety guidelines.
- Perform additional duties as assigned by the Custodial Supervisor or designated representative.
Qualifications
Minimum Requirements
- Previous custodial or commercial cleaning experience is a plus.
- Ability to work effectively in a team environment and follow directions.
- Strong attention to detail and commitment to quality work.
- Reliable transportation.
- Ability to successfully pass a background check.
Physical Requirements
- Ability to reach, bend, stoop, kneel, and perform repetitive cleaning motions.
- Ability to push, pull, and lift up to 30 pounds.
- Ability to stand and walk for extended periods.
- Ability to work in a physically demanding, fast-paced environment.
- Ability to work in varying temperatures and weather conditions when required.
Work Environment
This position may require working indoors and outdoors in a variety of conditions, including exposure to hot and cold temperatures. Employees must be able to meet productivity and service standards established by the company.
