Michigan Conference of the United Methodist Church in Flat Rock, MI seeks Pastor (multiple positions).
Responsibilities: The Pastor is responsible for preparing and conducting religious woship services, including the administration of the sacraments of communion and baptism; leading the worship praise team; preparing for and leading Bible study groups; preparing for and participating in congregational, District, Conference, and community meetings; providing spiritual counseling, guidance, and leadership to church members; meeting the church members in times of special need; ministering to the ill and infirm, which sometimes may require limited local travel to their homes or health care facilities; performing and conducting religious services and other religious events such as funerals and weddings; coordinating members to lead and support various functions of the church including janitorial, administrative, musical, technological, or childcare duties; and other duties as assigned.
Please Note: The Pastor will travel approximately 15% of the time, including limited local travel and in-state travel to visit the homes and health care facilities of church members, attending local community meetints, and attending District and Conference meetings within the state of Michigan.
Education: Master's degree in Divinity, Theology, Theological Studies, or related field (or foreign equivalent).
Experience: None. Special requirements include: Knowledge of the United Methodist Church's theology and doctrine as established by the Book of Discipline of the United Methodist Church or its approved affiliates/partners in full connection/communion, or be approved for credentialing within 12 months of appointment.
