- High school graduation or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
- Six years of continuing job related automobile mechanic experience, and State of Michigan motor vehicle mechanic certification in at least eight certification areas.
- Demonstrated working knowledge of vehicle and engine maintenance and repair, brake and transmission maintenance and repair, and suspension repair.
- Knowledge of trucks, heavy duty equipment and small engine repairs is desirable.
- Ability to repair vehicles and equipment in a professional manner.
- Ability to communicate through the use of email.
- Ability to work without supervision.
- Ability to perform physically active work requiring frequent standing, reaching, walking, bending, pulling, pushing, climbing ladders and lifting in order to perform various vehicle maintenance and repair tasks; frequent lifting requiring the execution of up to sixty pounds to move and use, tools, equipment, and the application of maintenance procedures.
- Must possess a valid driver’s license and driving record acceptable to the University by the University’s insurance carrier.
