We are looking for a Manager, Real Estate & Facilities, to join our Facilities team in Ann Arbor. This is a unique opportunity to oversee and drive the performance of a large, complex facility while elevating its operations, ensuring a safe, efficient, and high-performing workplace environment.
This role requires a hands-on, self-starting leader who is comfortable assessing current conditions, identifying gaps, and implementing practical solutions. You will play a critical role in stabilizing operations, establishing processes, and delivering a high-quality experience for colleagues and future sub-tenants.
About You - experience, education, skills, and accomplishments
Bachelor's degree or equivalent relevant experience
Minimum 7 years of experience in facilities operations and management
Minimum 4 years of experience managing direct reports

Ability to oversee contractors, subcontractors, and engineering partners
Experience managing procurement processes for external vendors
Experience managing facility operations, maintenance, and vendor relationships

What will you be doing in this role?
Lead and manage a team of facilities professionals to ensure high-quality service delivery
Oversee end-to-end facility operations, including maintenance, safety, and compliance
Develop and execute facility optimization strategies aligned with business goals
Manage budgets, forecasts, and ongoing operational costs
Oversee contractors, subcontractors, and vendor relationships
Establish bidding processes and procurement strategies for facility services
Develop and maintain environmental health and safety programs (including emergency planning and business continuity)
Manage real estate operations and act as the primary contact for sub-tenants
Set team goals, track performance metrics, and provide coaching and development
Support staffing decisions and team growth
About the Team
This is a high-visibility team that plays a critical role in ensuring a seamless workplace experience. The team partners with internal stakeholders and external vendors/contractors to maintain and optimize facility operations.
Success in this role requires a proactive, solutions-oriented mindset-someone who identifies needs, takes initiative, and follows through to completion. This is a role for a leader who is comfortable rolling up their sleeves, building structure where needed, and driving continuous improvement.
Hours of Work
This is a full-time, onsite position based in Ann Arbor, working Monday-Friday, 8:00 AM-5:00 PM EST, with flexibility as needed. This role requires availability for early mornings, late evenings, and on-call support, depending on operational needs.
