Job Title: Assembler
Job Description
The Assembler supports production by assembling and installing small components at a workstation in a clean, well-organized facility. You follow written assembly instructions, use basic hand tools and measuring devices, and perform visual quality inspections to ensure each product meets specifications. This is a full-time, day-shift role, Monday through Friday from 7:00 a.m. to 3:30 p.m., with comprehensive training provided for reliable and motivated individuals.
Responsibilities
Assemble and install small mechanical and electrical components at a workstation, either seated or standing throughout the shift.
Follow written assembly instructions, blueprints, and schematics to complete products accurately and efficiently.
Use basic hand tools and a tape measure to measure, fit, and secure parts according to specifications.
Assemble and connect different colored wires correctly, paying close attention to color coding and orientation.
Perform visual and functional quality inspections on completed assemblies to ensure they meet established standards.
Identify and report any defects, discrepancies, or issues with parts, tools, or instructions to the appropriate team members.
Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work area, following all safety guidelines and procedures.
Work independently to complete assigned tasks while meeting productivity and quality expectations.
Assist in other areas of production or assembly as needed, demonstrating flexibility and a willingness to support the team.
Accurately track and document work as required, following any production or quality control processes in place.
Essential Skills
Ability to read and use a tape measure accurately.
Ability to distinguish and work with different colored wires (no color vision limitations).
Experience using basic hand tools in an assembly or similar environment.
Comfort working from assembly instructions, blueprints, or schematics.
Strong attention to detail for performing quality inspections and following specifications.
Reliability and eagerness to work, with consistent attendance and punctuality.
Ability to work independently with minimal supervision while meeting production goals.
Flexibility to assist in different areas of the operation as needed.
Additional Skills & Qualifications
Previous mechanical assembly experience is beneficial, with pay adjusted for 1-2 years of relevant experience.
Experience with electrical assembly, including working with wiring and small components, is a plus.
Familiarity with using measuring tools, such as tape measures, in a production or construction environment.
Ability to read and interpret basic technical drawings, blueprints, or schematics.
Comfort working at a desk or workstation for extended periods, either sitting or standing.
Willingness to learn new tasks and processes through on-the-job training.

This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Hudsonville, MI.
Pay and Benefits
The pay range for this position is $16.00 - $19.00/hr.
