The Medical Consultant (pharmacy prior authorization reviews) serves in the Office of Medical Affairs, which is housed in MDHHS Health Services and provides clinical support to Michigan Medicaid and the Children’s Special Health Care Services Program.
 
Utilizing clinical expertise and knowledge of program policies, the Medical Consultant performs time-sensitive pharmacy prior authorization reviews for Michigan Medicaid. This work is accomplished through prompt and efficient review of clinical and administrative documentation to render decisions on requests for outpatient drugs under the pharmacy benefit. Depending on programmatic needs, this position may also conduct prior authorization reviews under the medical benefit and provide clinical consultation for other tasks in the Office of Medical Affairs.

Additional Requirements

Location and Weekly Hours: Work is completed remotely in Michigan during regular business hours. Work hours cannot exceed 16 hours per week, on average.
