Job Title: Behavior Technician (BT)
Position Summary
• The Behavior Technician (BT) works directly with children to implement individualized treatment
plans developed by a Board Certified Behavior Analyst (BCBA).
• Provides one-on-one support using Applied Behavior Analysis (ABA) techniques to improve
communication, social, behavioral, and daily living skills.
Key Responsibilities
• Implement individualized behavior intervention plans under BCBA supervision
• Provide one-on-one support to children with developmental and behavioral needs
• Collect and record accurate data on client progress
• Teach communication, social, and daily living skills
• Use positive reinforcement and ABA strategies to reduce challenging behaviors
• Maintain a safe and engaging environment
• Collaborate with team members and families
• Participate in training and supervision sessions
• Follow confidentiality and ethical guidelines
Qualifications
• High school diploma required; degree in related field preferred
• Experience working with children preferred
• RBT certification preferred or willingness to obtain
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills
• Patience and reliability
Physical Requirements
• Ability to engage physically with children (sitting, standing, playing)
• Ability to lift up to 30–50 lbs
• Ability to respond quickly to behavioral situations
