In this role, you play a vital part in operating machinery, ensuring quality output, and maintaining a safe and efficient manufacturing environment. Key Responsibilities
- Material Prep & Machining Support
- Operate machine tools such as lathes, drill presses, milling machines, cold and band saw, or grinders to cut heavy cylinder tubes and steel bar stock to exact blueprint lengths.
- Deburr, chamfer, and prep cut parts for the CNC machining team.
- Stage prepared materials on our "Next Op" shelves to keep the CNC spindle stations continuously running.
- Verifies conformance of machined work to specifications using measuring instruments including calipers, micrometers, and fixed or telescoping gauges.
- Industrial Painting & Finishing
- Prep and clean steel components for finish coating.
- Mix primers and industrial paints to correct viscosity.
- Apply professional-grade coatings to hydraulic cylinders and press frames using an HVLP spray gun in our dedicated paint area, ensuring a smooth, defect-free finish.
- Clean and maintain painting equipment, spray guns, and ventilation systems daily.
- Local Deliveries & Driving
- Drive the company vehicle (pickup truck) to drop off and pick up parts from local vendors (e.g., plating, heat-treating).
- Secure cargo safely and verify all paperwork matches delivery tickets.
- Perform basic safety checks on the company vehicle.
- Assist in maintaining shop cleanliness, emptying chip bins, and organizing inventory.
- Work closely with the Team Lead to ensure safety standards are met.
Requirements & Qualifications
- Driver’s License: Valid Driver's License with a spotless driving record (no major infractions). A background check and motor vehicle record (MVR) check are required before hiring.
- Basic Aptitude: Ability to read tape measures, calipers, and micrometers; perform basic shop math (ex. converting decimals to fractions).
- Painting Experience: At least 1 year of experience operating an HVLP spray gun preferred (industrial, automotive, or high-end cabinet refinishing).
- Mechanical Aptitude: Experience operating basic shop equipment (saws, grinders, drills) and reading tape measures/calipers.
- Physical Stamina: Ability to stand for 8 hours and lift up to 50 lbs regularly.
- Work Ethic: Strong attendance, reliable transportation, and a "can-do" attitude to keep production moving.
Job Type: Full-time
Pay: $16.00 - $20.00 per hour
