The Digital Media & Communications Specialist supports the development, coordination, production and implementation of Michigan Works! West Central’s internal and external marketing elements, including video production, graphic design, public relations, presentations and communication functions as determined by the Director of Communication & Public Affairs. In addition, the position is responsible for creating engaging, multi-platform content, maintaining brand standards, and supporting events and initiatives, while leveraging modern communication tools, including AI, to improve efficiency and expand outreach. Must maintain strict confidentiality of assigned information.
RESPONSIBILITIES AND DUTIES:
- Support the Director of Communication & Public Affairs to develop and execute internal and external communication strategies to increase awareness of programs, services and outcomes.
- Produce, edit, and maintain high-quality video content, including success stories, program highlights, and promotional materials for use across digital and in-person platforms.
- Develop and maintain an organized library of video, photo, and media assets for ongoing use in marketing and communications.
- Assist in planning, coordinating, and executing communications efforts for events such as MiCareerQuest, Hiring Parties, Reentry United and other organizational programs.
- Support media relations efforts, including development of visual and written content, coordination of press events, and monitoring of media coverage and social engagement.
- Create and update digital and on-site communication materials, including electronic signage, lobby displays, and presentations, ensuring content is visually compelling and aligned with brand standards.
- Assist in maintaining a consistent line of communication with service centers to identify emerging needs and ensure timely, relevant messaging.
- Support social media and website content development, including monitoring engagement and assisting with content improvements based on performance.
- Utilize AI tools and modern content technologies to enhance video production, streamline workflows, and create scalable communication materials, while ensuring accuracy, ethical use, and alignment with organizational messaging.
- Provide event support before, during, and after activities, including videography, photography, and logistics coordination.
- Oversee special projects and initiatives as assigned by the Director of Communication & Public Affairs.
