Job Description
As the Machining Group Leader, you will oversee a team of approximately 20-30 employees within a major automotive OEM's machining environment. This role blends leadership and operational oversight, requiring a business-first mindset with working knowledge of machining processes. You will be responsible for driving production, safety, and workforce accountability while supporting plant performance goals.
Responsibilities:
Lead and manage a team of 20-30 UAW employees within a machining environment
Oversee daily shift operations including timekeeping, attendance, and workforce management
Ensure machining operations run efficiently and meet production targets
Conduct safety checks and ensure compliance with plant standards
Track, analyze, and report production metrics weekly
Manage absenteeism and enforce accountability among team members
Ensure employees are paid accurately and time records are correct
Support problem-solving efforts on the floor related to production challenges
Make decisions in ambiguous situations to maintain production flow
Maintain strong leadership presence and drive team performance
Compensation:
$30/hr to $40/hr.
Exact compensation may vary based on several factors, including skills, experience, and education.
Benefit packages for this role will start on the 31st day of employment and include medical, dental, and vision insurance, as well as HSA, FSA, and DCFSA account options, and 401k retirement account access with employer matching.
