Winter Grounds, Inc. is seeking to fill twenty-five (25) Groundskeeper (SOC Code 37-3011.00 Landscaping and Groundskeeping Workers) temporary, full-time Seasonal positions for October 1, 2026, to April 15, 2027. Worksite: 4605 22 Mile Road, Suite 205, Shelby Township, MI 48317, and multiple sites in Oakland, Macomb, and Wayne counties
Job Duties: Perform snow removal services at residential and commercial properties, including driveways, parking lots, and sidewalks, using hand tools such as shovels and snow brooms, as well as power-driven equipment like walk-behind electric or gas snow blowers. Apply de-icing materials such as rock salt or calcium chloride to maintain safe walking and driving surfaces. Assist with general grounds and facilities maintenance tasks, including litter collection, clearing debris such as leaves and snow from building entrances and walkways, and winterizing irrigation systems. May perform additional seasonal groundskeeping duties during fall and spring, such as raking, mulching, composting leaves, removing dead plant materials, cutting back perennials, mulching landscape beds, and dormant pruning from ground level. May be asked to drive a crew vehicle to job sites if the worker already possesses a valid, noncommercial driver’s license; however, a driver’s license is not a condition of employment. Workers will not be required to operate a snow plow.
Requirements: No education, training, or experience required
Special Requirements: Must lift/carry 50 lbs when necessary. Saturday and Sunday work required, when necessary. Work hours may include nights and overtime during emergencies and winter storm conditions. Must be able to perform manual, physical labor outside in all weather conditions (hot, cold, rain, snow, etc.).
Terms and conditions of employment: $19.93/hr, 35/hours/ week. Overtime available at $29.90/hr. Monday-Friday, 8:00 AM-4:30 PM Employees will be paid weekly on Friday. Raises and/or bonuses may be offered based on individual factors, including work performance, skill, and tenure. Employer will use a single workweek as its standard for computing wages due. Workers will begin each day at the worksite address. They will then be transported, free of charge, to properties located throughout the area of intended employment to perform duties. Other benefits provided and cost: Employer will make all deductions required by law and no others without written consent from worker. The employer does not envision other workforce-wide payroll deductions. The employer will make all deductions required by law and no others without the worker's consent. Employer will provide the following at no cost: one (1) pair of pants, two (2) hats, and two (2) sweatshirts. Workers may purchase additional pants at their own expense ($25.00 per pair) and will be responsible for covering half the cost of jackets, up to $25.00. Hats and sweatshirts may be replaced during the season as they become worn. Employer will deduct up to $100 per week for the cost of rent and utilities if elected. The employer will also assist workers in securing board, lodging, or other facilities.
Additional Requirements: In accordance with applicable Michigan state law, Earned Sick Time Act 338, employers are required to provide earned sick time to their employees. The amount of paid sick leave provided may vary depending on the size of the business.
Transportation, Subsistence, and Fees: The employer will reimburse an H-2B worker in the first work week for all visa, visa processing, border crossing, and other related fees, including those mandated by the government, incurred by the H-2B worker. From the place from which the worker has come to work, whether in the US or abroad, to the place of employment, if the worker completes 50% of the work contract period, the employer will provide advance payment for transportation and subsistence (including meals and to the extent necessary, lodging) from the place of recruitment to the place of employment. Upon completion of the work contract or where the worker is dismissed earlier, employer will provide or pay for worker’s reasonable costs of return transportation and subsistence back home or to the place the worker originally departed to work, except where the worker will not return due to subsequent employment with another employer. The amount of transportation payment or reimbursement will be equal to the most economical and reasonable common carrier for the distances involved. Daily subsistence will be provided at a rate of $16.78 per day during travel to a maximum of $68.00 per day with receipts. Three-fourths guarantee: The employer guarantees to offer work for hours equal to at least three fourths of the workdays in each 12-week period of the total employment period.
Tools, protective clothing or other items: The employer will provide workers at no charge all tools, supplies, & equipment required to perform the job.
