Patient Services Representative / Front Desk Associate

Position Overview
We are seeking a friendly, energetic, and highly reliable Patient Services Representative to join our team. This role is a blend of front desk, customer service, and administrative support in a fast-paced healthcare environment specializing in prosthetics, orthopedics, and mastectomy care.
You will be the first point of contact for patients-both in-person and over the phone-helping guide them through services, insurance, and care coordination.
Key Responsibilities
Answer incoming calls promptly and professionally
Assist patients with insurance questions, eligibility, and pricing
Schedule appointments and coordinate clinical staff calendars
Verify insurance coverage and obtain authorizations and referrals
Process and track patient orders in the system
Maintain accurate and organized patient records and files
Prepare documentation for imaging and clinical services
Greet and check in patients, ensuring a positive experience
Handle patient check-out and discharge processes efficiently
Manage a mix of scheduled appointments and walk-in patients (~30 daily)
Work Environment
Fast-paced, patient-facing setting
50% phone-based duties / 50% administrative and front desk tasks
Frequent interaction with patients of all ages, including those experiencing medical or emotional stress
High-volume Medicaid population with multiple HMO plans requiring careful differentiation

Excellent communication and problem-solving skills
Basic computer proficiency and ability to learn new systems quickly
Strong attention to detail and ability to retain processes

This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Clinton, MI.
Pay and Benefits
The pay range for this position is $18.00 - $20.00/hr.
