Mission Hill is a thriving non-denominational church in beautiful Traverse City Michigan's Peninsula neighborhood. We are seeking a Kitchen Coordinator for our vibrant and welcoming congregation.
Overview:
Oversees and assures compliance with all state and county regulations for a licensed commercial kitchen. Provides food for Sunday gatherings, after services at Mission Hill Church and other functions as needed.
Hours:
Weekend hours: Sunday 8:00am – 1:00pm, weekdays as needed for shopping and prep work (15 hrs per week)
Responsibilities:
- Assures compliance with yearly license review/inspections to maintain current licenses and certifications.
- Ensures kitchen usage (sanitation/food, safety) is handled consistent with the Standards of the Health Department.
- Trains individuals who use kitchen equipment and maintain a list of trained volunteers.
- Assures there is a trained Person in Charge (PIC) for any event the Kitchen Coordinator does not attend.
- Updates the kitchen policy and procedure manual.
- Coordinates schedules with church office on usage of the kitchen.
- Purchases supplies of food for use in church events.
- Must be able to effectively and professionally communicate procedures to members of the congregation.
- Responsible for communicating budget needs for upcoming year for supplies and equipment.
- Manage volunteers for coffee service on Sunday events.
- Regularly cleans kitchen, equipment, and storage areas.
- Other duties as assigned.
Qualifications:
- Must have or be able to attain a ServSafe certification.
- Must be able to work and communicate in a professional manner.
- Self-directed and independently motivated.
- High school graduate or equivalent.
- Solid Christ-centered commitment. Must be a faith-based individual who has a high level of integrity and trust.
- Must have a valid Driver’s License.
- Must be able to drive to various off-site locations as needed.
