Position Summary
The Communications and Marketing Coordinator reports to and assists the Associate Superintendent of Communications and Development with coordinating the districts communication and marketing strategies. This position works closely with district administrators and support staff to design and execute comprehensive communications and marketing plans, resources, and deliverables that incorporate all audiences and stakeholders. The positions primary responsibilities include website administration, writing, editing, designing, and publishing projects related to print and online communications marketing. The Communications and Marketing Coordinator is responsible for monitoring and communicating the mission and brand of the Genesee Intermediate School District to advance awareness of the programs and services of the organization.
Minimum Qualifications
Education:
Bachelor’s degree in business, communications, marketing, public relations, or related field required. Bachelor’s degree preferred. A combination of degrees, demonstrated skills and knowledge, additional training, and a minimum of five (5) years documented, successful work experience in marketing, public relations, or communications may be considered as satisfying the bachelor’s degree preference.
Experience:
Five (5) years of successful experience working in marketing, public relations, or a communications field, preferably in an education or nonprofit organization environment.
Skills/Other:
Position requires advanced proficiency in Microsoft Office (including PowerPoint and Project), Adobe Creative Suite (including Photoshop, Illustrator, InDesign, Acrobat), analytics, and social media platforms in both Windows and Mac environments. Creative and critical thinking, strong writing/editing skills, as well as a proven ability to effectively manage multiple projects and deadlines concurrently are also important requirements of this position. Ability to work collaboratively with school administrators, staff and agency personnel. Ability to utilize district technology and work to maintain proficiency, as skill sets change with technology and/or the needs of the district. Ability to solve complex problems logically and effectively, work independently, manage multiple projects simultaneously while meeting tight deadlines, set priorities, utilize resources, identify and address problems. Excellent oral, written, electronic, and interpersonal communication skills. Development, implementation, and management of marketing campaigns, communications strategies, and projects for GISD programs/departments including preschool, early colleges, GCI, student and staff recruitment, new services/programs.
Compensation & Benefits
Pay Range: $62,296 - $85,240 annually, commensurate with experience and qualifications
Work Schedule: 261 days / 7.5 hours daily
Paid Time Off:
- Sick and Personal Business paid time, up to 16 days
- Bereavement Leave
