Strategically lead the North America Product Development Engineering organization, overseeing a portfolio of home appliance product development programs. Provide executive-level managerial direction for a multidisciplinary organization of senior managers, managers, engineers, and analysts, including hiring, promotions, performance evaluations, succession planning, and organizational design. Manage the people-expense budget and engineering project portfolio budget, making key financial decisions related to resource allocation, investment prioritization, and portfolio trade-offs. Drive strategic planning and execution for the engineering project portfolio, ensuring alignment with mid- and long-term business objectives. Represent the engineering function at the executive leadership level, providing strategic recommendations, technical assessments, and program status updates to senior leadership. Oversee prioritization of the North America product portfolio, coordinating cross-functional activities across engineering, product development, product marketing, and manufacturing to achieve cost, quality, and time-to-market objectives. Lead the end-to-end product development lifecycle using a structured, enterprise-level product development framework, ensuring delivery of products that meet performance, cost, and quality targets. Apply systems engineering principles to drive optimal system-level architecture, integration, and interface alignment across mechanical, electrical, and software components. Lead system-level technical decision-making, including risk mitigation, issue resolution, and validation of engineering trade-offs. Drive predictive validation methodologies and ensure completion of technical design reviews in accordance with defined project milestones and engineering standards. Define and oversee product performance strategy and technical leadership across the product portfolio, including energy efficiency, overall product performance, acoustics, and reliability. Lead the integration of final manufactured products, ensuring seamless transition from development to production readiness and sustained performance in manufacturing environments. Drive organizational capability development, including talent development, coaching, skill-building, and succession planning for technical and leadership roles. Ensure continuous improvement of engineering processes and product designs through the application of Lean, Six Sigma, DFMEA, and systems-based methodologies. Supervise up to 15 direct reports holding senior leadership roles (Senior Manager, Manager, Principal, Lead) across Engineering, Product Delivery, and Innovation functions, with total organizational responsibility of up to 60 employees. Requires approximately 10% domestic travel to U.S. manufacturing locations. May work remotely for a total of 2 weeks per year.
REQUIREMENTS: Master’s degree (or foreign equivalent) in Mechatronic Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, or a closely related field, plus 10 years of progressive experience in product development and systems engineering.
