Pay Rate:
The pay rate for this job is $21 - $21 / hour*
What you'll be doing as a Scrap Yard Crane Operator:
Operate overhead, gantry, magnet, grapple, or hydraulic cranes to move, sort, load, and unload scrap metal materials
Safely transport ferrous and non-ferrous materials throughout the yard
Load trailers, railcars, and processing equipment efficiently and safely
Conduct daily equipment inspections and report maintenance needs
Monitor material quality and assist with sorting operations as needed
Follow all company safety procedures and OSHA regulations
Maintain production efficiency while ensuring a safe work environment
Assist with general yard operations when necessary
Available shifts:
Shift timings - 1st Shift (Day)
Job requirements:
Applicants must be at least 18 years of age to be considered for employment with PeopleReady
Previous crane operating experience in a scrap yard, steel mill, recycling facility, foundry, or heavy industrial environment
Experience operating grapple, magnet, hydraulic, overhead, or gantry cranes preferred
Strong understanding of equipment safety and load handling procedures
Ability to work in an outdoor industrial environment
Reliable attendance and strong work ethic
Ability to lift up to 50 pounds and work around heavy equipment
Drug Screening Required
