The Research Technician Senior will function as part of the project team and manage day-to-day operations of the project.
The responsibilities of this role will include:
- Participant recruitment
- Screening and enrollment of interested patients into the program
- Deliver the intervention to people who screen eligible for the program
- Provide technical assistance and brief intervention to patients as needed
- Complete all participant tracking documentation accurately and efficiently
- Keep project databases up-to-date
- Attend team meetings and touchpoints with supervisor
- Additional duties as assigned
This role adds value to the organization by providing day-to-day support with project delivery and data collection as a career-building opportunity for candidates to gain hands-on experience in research and intervention delivery, with emphasis on building rapport and trust with participants/patients throughout the program.
- Recruit potential participants by phone or text and engage them in the screening and informed consent process
- Delivering assessments and brief interventions in real-time, remotely or in-person, with study participants
- Completing tracking paperwork and maintaining project databases (i.e., REDCap) according to study protocols and procedures
- Data collection, data entry, and uploading participant data to data repositories for data sharing
- Complete risk assessments (i.e., suicide, homicide) when required, following a standardized protocol, and documenting according to study protocols
- Additional responsibilities include, but are not limited to, attending team meetings and trainings, meetings with supervisor, qualitative interviews, and literature searches.
Our team is looking for a Research Technician Senior who is empathic, personable, and thrives when interacting with participants/patients; has excellent communication, interpersonal, and organizational skills; a strong ability to work independently while maintaining communication with the study coordinator, study team, and principal investigator; and can prioritize competing tasks to meet deadlines. The desirable candidate must be comfortable interacting with diverse populations and discussing sensitive topics (substance use, suicide and related mental health concerns) with study participants.
This position is full-time (40 hours per week) with regular hours discussed with the supervisor. To be considered for this position, you must be flexible and available to work a varying schedule with some evening and weekend shifts. The position will require in-person work in Ann Arbor, thus reliable transportation is required.
This position is a 1 year term-limited appointment . At the end of the stated term, if funds are not are not available, your appointment will terminate, and will not be eligible for Reduction-in-Force (RIF) benefits. This term-limited appointment does not create a contract or guarantee of employment for any period of time as you will remain subject to disciplinary or other performance measures, up to and including termination, at the will of the University in accordance with existing University policy and standards for employee performance and conduct.
