Summary
We are seeking a Bus Aide to join our team at METS. In this role, you will assist in the safe transportation of students, ensuring their well-being and comfort during transit. Your contributions will be vital in supporting our mission to provide exceptional service to schools and families.
Responsibilities
- Assist the bus driver in ensuring the safety of all students during transit.
- Monitor student behavior and manage conflicts effectively.
- Provide support to students with special needs or those requiring additional assistance.
- Help students board and exit the bus safely and efficiently.
- Communicate effectively with students, parents, and school staff regarding any issues or concerns.
- Administer first aid when necessary and maintain a safe environment on the bus.
Requirements
- Experience working with children in an educational or childcare setting is preferred.
- Strong conflict management skills and ability to handle challenging situations calmly.
- Knowledge of special education practices is a plus.
- First aid certification is highly desirable.
- Excellent communication skills to interact with students, parents, and staff effectively.
