We are seeking a highly skilled and proactive Homologation Specialist to join our Technical Safety and Regulatory Compliance (TSRC) organization. This role focuses on ensuring global compliance of steering systems, emergency lane keeping systems (ELKS), tire and TPMS requirements, wheel integrity, and chassis position sensing technologies. As a key contributor to our vehicle safety and regulatory strategy, you will work crossfunctionally to develop certification plans, guide engineering teams, and support interactions with regulatory authorities and technical services. Your work will directly support the safety, performance, and regulatory readiness of our global vehicle programs.
Key Responsibilities:
Regulatory Expertise & Compliance Execution
Serve as the subject matter expert for global regulatory requirements related to:
Steering systems (FMVSS 203/204, CMVSS equivalents, ECE R79, UN R13H interfaces)
Emergency Lane Keeping Systems (ELKS) and lane support functions (UNECE R79 Annex 5/6)
Tire and TPMS regulations (FMVSS 110/138, CMVSS, ECE R30/R64, ISO TPMS standards)
Wheel strength and durability (ECE R124, SAE J2530)
Chassis position sensors and related safetycritical integration points
Lead homologation strategy and execution for assigned systems across global markets.
Ensure compliance with all relevant FMVSS, CMVSS, ECE/UN Regulations, and other marketspecific standards.
CrossFunctional Collaboration
Partner with engineering, validation, program management, manufacturing, legal, and supplier teams to coordinate certification activities.
Participate in design reviews, DFMEAs, PFMEAs, and program milestones to represent regulatory and safety priorities.
Support issue resolution, risk assessments, and compliancedriven design decisions.
Certification Planning & Documentation
Develop and maintain comprehensive certification plans, including:
Test plans and validation protocols
Regulatory submissions and technical documentation
Compliance matrices and traceability records
Coordinate with thirdparty labs and technical services for testing and approvals.
Track, interpret, and communicate changes in global regulations affecting steering, ELKS, tire/TPMS, wheel, and chassis systems.
Agency & Technical Service Interaction
Act as the primary liaison with regulatory authorities, technical services, and homologation agencies.
Support audits, witness testing, and regulatory inquiries.
Basic Qualifications:
Bachelor of Science in Engineering (Mechanical, Electrical, Automotive, or related) from an ABET accredited institution
Minimum of 5 years of experience in vehicle safety compliance, chassis systems engineering, or homologation
Working knowledge of global regulations related to steering, lane keeping, tire/TPMS, and wheel systems
Experience with FMVSS, CMVSS, ECE/UN Regulations, and associated test procedures
Strong understanding of vehicle dynamics, steering system architecture, and chassis integration
Demonstrated ability to coordinate crossfunctional projects in a fastpaced development environment
Preferred Qualifications:
Master of Science in Engineering from an ABETaccredited university
Handson experience with steering system testing, TPMS validation, wheel durability testing, or ADAS/ELKS validation
Familiarity with ISO 26262, ISO 21448 (SOTIF), and cybersecurity regulations (UNECE R155/R156)
Strong communication skills, including technical writing and presenting to regulatory bodies
Experience aligning TSRC certification activities with the Stellantis Product Development Plan (PDP), including milestone deliverables and crossfunctional integration
Working knowledge of Stellantis engineering and homologation tools, internal databases, and regulatory tracking systems
Familiarity with TSRC processes, certification workflows, and issue escalation procedures
Multilingual capabilities or experience working with global certification agencies
Experience with structured problemsolving methodologies (e.g., KepnerTregoe)
