Summary of Position
Youth Advocate Programs (YAP), Inc. is seeking dependable, committed, and positive role models to serve youth and families throughout Saginaw County.
This is a part-time, hourly position serving youth and families in schools, communities, and homes. Primary responsibilities of the Advocate are to initiate, organize, plan, develop, and implement direct advocacy services to assigned participants and their families.
All service plans will be based on a strength-based approach using the wraparound model.
This position offers flexible hours, competitive weekly pay, and activity reimbursement.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
- Initiate, organize, plan, develop, and implement direct advocacy services for assigned participants and their families.
- Provide services to youth and families in schools, communities, and home settings.
- Utilize a strength-based approach and wraparound service model.
- Serve as a positive role model for youth and families.
- Maintain effective communication with participants, families, and community partners.
Qualifications and Requirements
- Minimum High School Diploma or GED required.
- Experience in community work and knowledge of community resources.
- Strong verbal and written communication skills.
- Basic computer skills required.
- Experience with Electronic Health Record (EHR) systems is a plus.
- Bilingual/Spanish speaking is a plus.
- Valid driver's license required.
- Reliable transportation required.
- Current automobile insurance coverage required.
