Position Summary:
The Phlebotomy Team Lead will lead and participate in a small team providing phlebotomy services to inpatients or an outpatient laboratory. Ensures adherence to standards and policies. Trains new employees as assigned. Captures data, audits processes and reports selected metrics to management.
What the Team Lead will do:
Follows department standard work, updates and maintains huddle board.
Audits Phlebotomy staff to ensure adherence to standards in processes. Coaches staff to improvement.
Tracks and documents performance statistics. e.g.; patient wait times, redraw rates, and presents data at team meetings.
What the Team Lead will need:
High school diploma required.
Phlebotomy Training or Phlebotomy Technical School
Minimum ASCP certification for Phlebotomy (or other accrediting agency) or certification must obtain within 3 months of hire date.
Six months of phlebotomy experience.
Hours of Work:
- 0630-1830 Monday through Friday, Saturday TBD
