Automatic Transmission Software Engineer - MATLAB/Simulink & C
Overview / Summary
We are seeking an experienced Automatic Transmission Software Engineer to support the development and management of transmission control software features. The role involves software modeling, testing, validation coordination, issue resolution, and software lifecycle management within an Agile development environment.
This is a hybrid position requiring onsite presence 4 days per week.
Key Responsibilities
Own and manage multiple automatic transmission software components and features
Manage software changes, requirements, and release updates
Coordinate validation activities with HIL and calibration teams
Act as the primary point of contact for issue triage and resolution
Support software quality processes and required deliverables including test reports, validation documents, and calibration guides
Use MATLAB, Simulink, and Stateflow to model software feature functions and generate C code from models
Develop and execute unit tests to verify software functionality against requirements
Utilize issue management tools such as JIRA to manage and document software feature changes
Develop interface specifications across functional boundaries, subsystems, and features
Collaborate with cross-functional teams to optimize software solutions with consideration for complexity, tunability, and testability
Required Qualifications
Bachelor's Degree
4+ years of experience developing automatic transmission controls using C code and MATLAB/Simulink/Stateflow
Experience working with automatic transmission systems in software design or calibration
Experience in Agile software development environments
Experience with software testing and software quality metrics including decision coverage, MC/DC, and line coverage
Experience using MATLAB for software development and modeling
Experience working with Simulink models including modifying, designing, and simulation activities
Experience with Software Development Lifecycle tools such as GitHub or IBM ClearCase
Experience writing or modifying C code
Preferred Qualifications
Experience with automotive calibration tools such as ATI Vision and Vector CANoe
Knowledge of AI-assisted development tools and workflows
Experience with powertrain controls software development
