Manufacturing Process Engineer - Automotive Assembly

Overview / Summary

We are seeking an experienced Manufacturing Process Engineer to support axle assembly manufacturing operations in a fully onsite environment. This role focuses on continuous improvement initiatives related to safety, quality, productivity, and manufacturing process optimization. The ideal candidate will have strong process engineering experience within a manufacturing environment and the ability to lead process improvement and equipment implementation initiatives.

Key Responsibilities

• Support manufacturing process engineering activities for axle assembly operations

• Drive continuous improvement initiatives focused on safety, quality, and productivity

• Apply engineering principles and analytical techniques to improve manufacturing processes

• Lead projects involving delivery and commissioning of manufacturing equipment

• Conduct process audits to ensure compliance with operational guidelines

• Perform ergonomic evaluations and implement corrective actions as needed

• Analyze inventory and reject root causes and implement corrective actions

• Develop process documentation and instruction sheets supporting quality processes

• Deliver capable manufacturing processes and assembly operation tools

• Lead resolution of machining-related concerns

• Drive variability reduction and lean manufacturing initiatives

• Ensure compliance with plant, corporate, governmental, and environmental standards

• Identify throughput constraints and implement root cause improvements

  Required Qualifications

• 5+ years of manufacturing process engineering experience

• Experience with:

• Process Engineering

• Manufacturing Engineering

• Problem Solving

• Process Validation

• Good Manufacturing Practices (GMP)

• Lean Manufacturing

• Strong interpersonal, teamwork, leadership, and communication skills

• High School Diploma or GED

  Preferred Qualifications

• Bachelor's Degree

• Experience with:

• Process Improvement

• PPAP Processes

• Manufacturing Processes

• Lean Six Sigma

• Assembly Lines

• Gauge R&R and capability studies

• FMEA, PPAP, and DOE methodologies

• Visual Factory Management

• Ergonomic analysis

• Project management and equipment delivery experience

• Automotive component or axle manufacturing experience

• Six Sigma experience
