As an Assistant Buyer, you will collaborate closely with buyers to manage the Non-Purchase Order (NPO) process, create a weekly NPO agenda, and explore new charting methods for interim prices reports. You will also resource parts, process credit/debit memos, and address departmental issues across various systems and purchasing topics. Additional responsibilities include maintaining MDI trackers and SP, setting up and processing daily stock redirects, handling sales agreements, and tracking shipments. You will analyze COPIS tickets and direct open tickets to the appropriate buyer, while participating in special projects as needed.
Responsibilities
Work with buyers to manage the NPO process and create weekly NPO agendas.
Initiate new charting methods for interim prices reports and NPO systems.
Resource parts and process credit/debit memos.
Resolve departmental issues across all systems and purchasing topics.
Maintain MDI tracker and SP.
Set up and process daily stock redirects.
Process sales agreements and track shipments.
Analyze COPIS tickets and direct open tickets to the appropriate buyer.
Participate in special projects as needed.
Essential Skills
2+ years of experience in purchasing as an assistant or junior buyer.
Experience with SAP, whether in school or work settings.
2+ years of experience in tracking, reporting, and cross-functional collaboration.
Completed Bachelor's Degree.
Additional Skills & Qualifications
Strong initiative with a long-term goal to advance in the field.
Proficiency in Microsoft Office, purchasing, order entry, administrative support, tracking, supplier follow-up, procurement, vendor management, and Excel data entry.
Work Environment
This position offers a hybrid work environment, with four days in the office (Monday to Thursday) and one day working from home (Friday). The office is located on the main campus in Dearborn, featuring an open concept, dedicated floor, and a modern space with a cafeteria. The dress code is business casual, with khakis or dress pants and a button-down shirt or blouse being acceptable. Work hours are from 8 AM to 5 PM, Monday through Friday, totaling 40 hours per week. Pay and Benefits
The pay range for this position is $28.00 - $32.00/hr.
