We are seeking a detail-oriented and experienced Electrical Engineer to join our team. The ideal candidate will have 3-5 years of experience in construction-related electrical engineering, with strong skills in project planning, design, code compliance, and field collaboration. Must hold Engineer in Training classification, PE License preferred. This role plays a key part in ensuring technical accuracy, supporting project execution, and delivering value to our clients through full cycle engineering projects.
Key Responsibilities
- Design and Development: Research, design, and develop electrical systems and components for commercial, industrial, and residential projects, ensuring compliance with applicable codes and standards.
- Project Management: Oversee project production efforts to assure projects are completed on time and within budget.
- Technical Oversight: Direct or coordinate manufacturing, construction, installation, maintenance, support, documentation, or testing activities to ensure compliance with specifications, codes, or customer requirements.
- Calculations and Specifications: Perform detailed calculations to compute and establish manufacturing, construction, or installation standards or specifications.
- Collaboration: Confer with engineers, customers, or others to discuss existing or potential engineering projects or products.
- Documentation: Compile data and write reports regarding existing or potential electrical engineering studies or projects.
- Budgeting: Budgeting and proposal writing for various size projects including Value Engineering.
- Additional Areas of Focus: Lighting and power design, arc flash studies, short circuit studies, “as built” drawings, and safety program expertise.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering from an accredited institution.
- Minimum 3 years of experience in construction-related electrical engineering.
- Strong understanding of the National Electrical Code (NEC) and Michigan electrical code.
- Excellent written and verbal communication abilities.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Valid driver’s license with a clean driving record.
- Engineer In Training designation required, active Professional Engineer (PE) license in the State of Michigan or progress to obtain PE (Preferred).

- Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, Outlook, Project)
- Lighting and photometric software (e.g., AGi32)
- Energy modeling tools (e.g., Trace 700, EnergyPlus)
Working Conditions
- Primarily office-based with occasional job site visits.
- Must be able to navigate active construction environments.
- Ability to work under project deadlines and manage multiple tasks effectively.
