Our client, a leading organization in facility management, is seeking a Chief Engineer to join their team. As a Chief Engineer, you will be part of the Operations Department supporting the maintenance and engineering teams. The ideal candidate will demonstrate strong leadership, problem-solving skills, and a commitment to safety, which will align successfully in the organization.

Location: Detroit, MI

Shift : M-F, 7am-3:30pm
Pay : $41/hr
What's the Job?
Oversee daily operations and management of the facility maintenance team to ensure safety, efficiency, and cost-effectiveness.
Develop and implement strategic plans, goals, and objectives aligned with organizational vision.
Identify safety hazards, enforce safety protocols, and ensure compliance with all regulatory laws and guidelines.
Manage engineering systems including HVAC, electrical, refrigeration, and mechanical equipment, ensuring optimal performance.
Lead technical troubleshooting, oversee repairs, preventive maintenance, and monitor system performance for continuous improvement.
What's Needed?
7+ years of facility-related work experience, including leadership and supervisory roles.
Minimum 6 years of documented experience in HVAC or electrical trades, or 4 years plus 2 supporting education.
Managerial experience leading maintenance teams in commercial or industrial settings.
Knowledge of maintenance processes, construction planning, and execution.
Proficiency with Microsoft Office and CMMS systems, with excellent communication skills.
