We are currently searching for a Senior Service & Installation Engineer to support all phases of robots and robotic systems by providing technical assistance and leadership for on-site plant support. This includes (but is not limited to) the robot setup, troubleshooting, repairing and retrofitting of internal parts and peripheral equipment. In addition, you will provide project coordination while also leading and mentoring other installation engineering personnel.
Lead on-site technical tasks and manage FANUC products through build, buyoff, integration, customer acceptance, plant installation and production support
Provide timely updates to management, which include technical reports of repairs and troubleshooting during the different phases of the project
Analyze and interpret electrical and mechanical prints
Provide prompt, professional and courteous solutions to customer technical issues
Lead and advise on issues, troubleshooting and resolution
Manage spare parts at customer sites
Supply the execution team with FANUC part numbers needed for procurement
Create technical reports and provide customers with clear communication of issues and solutions
Provide cross functional support to various departments, including project management and engineering
Lead and perform intricate repairs on robot mechanical units and controllers
Lead retrofit activities for robot peripheral and internal hardware such as dressouts, uports, wire harnesses, RTUs, etc.
Troubleshoot interface issues between both FANUC and peripheral equipment
Assist in optimizing and programming various bodyshop applications
Plan and lead software upgrades and hardware configuration activities
Create plans and lead robot process improvement activities
Provide consistent project reporting (daily status, weekly time, and weekly expense reporting)
~50% travel throughout the organization's service area for business
What You Need
High School Diploma or GED
8+ years of relevant FANUC robot and automotive body shop experience
Experience utilizing FANUC technology, industrial electrical, electronic, and computer hardware
High level working knowledge of programming languages, PLCs and body shop application/process equipment
Must have or be able to obtain a valid driver's license and U.S. Passport
Ability to legally rent and operate a vehicle in the United States and Canada for business travel purposes
What Would Be Even Better
Bachelor's Degree in Engineering
10+ years of automation experience
Expert level ability to analyze and solve FANUC products and all body shop technology (machine vision and specific application equipment)
High level knowledge of FANUC body shop specification, applications and processes including hardware, software and communications protocol
Experience with teardown and repair of cell automation equipment
