First American is seeking an Escrow Disbursement Coordinator to support the New York National Commercial Services team. Although this position can be remote, the role supports a high-volume commercial operation handling transactions across the country. Success in this role requires the ability to manage multiple priorities simultaneously while maintaining accuracy, responsiveness, and compliance with established procedures.
In this role, you will review and prepare closing files for disbursement, confirm file balances, and execute wires and checks in accordance with established instructions and SOP guidelines. Responsibilities include verbally verifying wire instructions, preparing and balancing settlement statements that accurately reflect transaction debits and credits, distributing final closing packages, and partnering closely with escrow officers, lenders, buyers, and internal teams to resolve discrepancies and finalize transactions efficiently. This position plays a critical role in delivering a seamless, compliant, and client-focused closing experience.
How You'll Contribute:
Review, balance, and disburse escrow files, including preparing and issuing wires and checks in accordance with closing instructions and company procedures
Verbally verify wire instructions and ensure compliance with operational and fraud prevention protocols
Prepare and balance settlement statements/HUDs that accurately reflect all transaction debits, credits, fees, and disbursements
Manage a high volume of email communication with internal teams, lenders, clients, and third parties while maintaining responsiveness and accuracy
Prepare and distribute final closing documents, settlement statements, and related correspondence to appropriate parties
Partner with lenders, buyers, escrow officers, and internal stakeholders to reconcile discrepancies and ensure timely file completion
Follow established SOPs while simultaneously managing multiple transactions and competing priorities in a deadline-driven environment
Support daily financial activities including deposits, billing, wire reconciliation, and accounting-related reporting
Deliver responsive customer service and operational support while helping resolve transaction issues efficiently and professionally
What You'll Bring:
High School diploma or equivalent
1+ years of banking, escrow, title, settlement, or real estate transaction experience strongly preferred
Ability to thrive in a fast-paced, high-volume environment with strong multitasking and organizational skills
Experience following detailed SOPs and operational procedures while managing multiple transactions simultaneously
Working knowledge of escrow processes, settlement statements (HUDs/CDs), wire processing, and basic accounting principles
Strong attention to detail with the ability to identify discrepancies and resolve issues accurately and efficiently
Experience handling high-volume email communication and coordinating with multiple parties throughout the transaction process
Intermediate proficiency with Microsoft Office and escrow-related systems with strong data entry accuracy
Ability to interpret instructions, analyze financial information, and adapt to changing priorities in dynamic situations
Effective communication and customer service skills with a collaborative, team-oriented mindset
Pay Range: $20.34 - $27.12 Hourly, Remote
