The General Ledger Accountant performs a variety of routine and non-routine accounting functions with a significant focus on General Ledger accounting. This position is also responsible for supporting the Controller in conducting key activities, such as Month-End and quarter-end close, Fixed Assets, Account Reconciliations, and Audits.
Responsibilities :
Prepare monthly journal entries, including payroll, benefits, accruals, expense allocations, and revenues.
Support with balance sheet preparation and monthly account reconciliation.
Maintain and update fixed assets tracking processes.
Support in continuous improvement processes as it relates to financials.
Support in all aspects of financial/tax return preparation.
Support the plant controller with other duties as assigned, including, but not limited to, executing Accounts Payable or Accounts Receivable duties as needed.
Basic Hiring Criteria :
Bachelor's degree in accounting, or at least 7 years of accounting experience with a focus on A/R, AP, or cost accounting.
Strong understanding of Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP).
Minimum five years of experience in accounting or a related field.
Intermediate to advanced skills in MS Excel.
Experience in ERP systems (PLEX) strongly preferred.
Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail.
Excellent analytical skills and ability to resolve complex problems with multiple variables.
