A Day in the Life
Medtronic is seeking a Senior Associate - Global Lab Strategist to serve a transformational role within the Enterprise Risk and Facilities organization in developing labs of the future. This role sits at the intersection of daily lab operations, technical lab expertise, and enterprise transformation, serving as a strategic partner to Medtronic's senior leadership in enabling scalable, efficient, and compliant laboratory capabilities worldwide.
In this high-impact role, you will evolve and execute on a global vision for Medtronic's laboratory operations, enabling standardized processes, optimized technical capabilities, shared services, automated infrastructure that supports R&D innovation and enterprise growth. This key strategic role will work closely with individuals spanning the organization, from single lab owners to Medtronic's operating unit VPs. This role requires an individual who is forward-thinking, a self-starter, and can drive change across a complex organizational landscape. This person will support the development of standards and best practices, deploy governance, and drive expertise to build a lab program that is scalable, sustainable, world leading, and aligned with concepts pertaining to labs of the future for continuous evolution.

This role can be based at any US Medtronic Lab location?
Collaborate and execute on a global strategy including identify and drive synergies between lab types, infrastructure, and uses
Partner with cross-functional leaders in R&D, Engineering, Quality, Compliance, and Facilities to ensure alignment with scientific priorities and regulatory requirements
Provide strong lab expertise, including but not limited to hands-on lab experience across a spectrum of lab operations, equipment management and installation, and a clear understanding of specifications across different lab types and classifications
Exemplify a strong aptitude for strategic planning, and project management to ensure smooth transitions and the achievement of KPIs
Foster cultural innovation and transition, as well as adaptation
Read, assess, and incorporate technical advancements and pull them into the fold of labs of the future management to ensure continued evolution and the prioritization of R&D development
Implement data-driven monitoring, performance metrics, and reporting to provide visibility into key operations, utilization, and continuous improvement opportunities
Strategize, plan, and provide project management to ensure a smooth transition to future
Influence and guide executive-level decisions through concise, actionable reporting, presentations, and insights on delivery, operations, and risk
Must Haves
- Bachelor's Degree and 4+ years of experience in laboratory operations, program management, strategic initiatives, or change and process management, preferably in a regulated environment OR advanced degree and 2+ years of experience
Nice to Have
Bachelor's Degree in Science, Engineering, or Mathematics
Track record managing complex, cross-functional projects and programs across multiple sites or regions
Strong knowledge of laboratory operations, instrumentation, infrastructure, and compliance standards
Strong intrapersonal and communication skills both verbally and written, including effective use of meetings (in-person and remote), and the ability to use data to support decision making
Proven analytical and problem-solving skills
For Baccalaureate degrees earned outside of the United States, a degree that satisfies the requirements of 8 C.F.R. § 214.2(h)(4)(iii)(A) is required.

Salary ranges for U.S (excl. PR) locations (USD):$102,400.00 - $153,600.00
This position is eligible for a short-term incentive called the Medtronic Incentive Plan (MIP).
The base salary range is applicable across the United States, excluding Puerto Rico and specific locations in California. The offered rate complies with federal and local regulations and may vary based on factors such as experience, certification/education, market conditions, and location. Compensation and benefits information pertains solely to candidates hired within the United States (local market compensation and benefits will apply for others).
