Responsibilities:
- Safely operate tractor-trailers with manual transmissions across extensive routes, adhering to all traffic laws and safety regulations.
- Load and unload freight using appropriate equipment such as forklifts when necessary, ensuring cargo integrity and security.
- Drive flatbed and lowboy trailers.
- Conduct thorough pre-trip inspections of the vehicle to identify maintenance needs or safety issues.
- Maintain accurate logs of driving hours, delivery documentation and inspection reports in compliance with DOT standards.
Experience:
- Must have proven experience as a commercial truck driver with a valid CDL A License, preferably with experience driving tractor-trailers in an OTR setting.
- Must have familiarity with operating manual transmission trucks and handling trailer types such as flatbeds and lowboys.
- Must have the ability to operate auxiliary equipment like forklifts safely, when loading or unloading freight.
- Must possess strong knowledge of safety procedures and compliance standards related to commercial trucking and transportation regulations.
