Cadmium Plater - Aerospace & Defense (Metro Detroit Area)
Direct Hire | Full-Time | Onsite - 2nd shift - training to start will be 7 pm - 3 am then will move to the 2nd shift which is 3:30 pm - 12 am
The Adecco Permanent Recruitment team has partnered with a Metro Detroit-based Aerospace manufacturer to recruit an experienced Cadmium Plater . This role is critical to supporting high-precision Aerospace & Defense programs.
Entry level candidates are encouraged to apply if you are teachable and can read blue prints, they will train you, the pay will just be in the $20-$22/hr range.
Position Overview:
The Cadmium Plater sets up and operates plating equipment to coat Aerospace and Defense metal components with cadmium, ensuring protective surface finishes that meet exact specifications. This position requires strong attention to detail, adherence to safety and quality standards, and the ability to maintain process accuracy throughout production.
Key Responsibilities:
Read and interpret work orders to determine material type, plating requirements, bath composition, and processing times.
Load and unload parts onto racking or fixtures for plating operations.
Clean, rinse, and prepare parts prior to plating.
Set up and control rectifiers and plating solutions to achieve specified coating thickness and surface quality.
Inspect parts visually and dimensionally throughout and after the plating process using micrometers, calipers, and gauges.
Measure, mask, and mark areas excluded from plating.
Perform related operations such as vapor blasting, sandblasting, and degreasing.
Maintain traceability and documentation throughout the plating process in accordance with company procedures.
Work safely with chemicals and plating machinery, following all EH&S guidelines.
Perform routine maintenance and daily cleaning of work areas and equipment.
Support production requirements, including occasional work outside of standard shift hours.
Perform additional duties as assigned by management.
Qualifications:
High School Diploma or GED required
5-7 years of cadmium plating experience in Aerospace or Defense manufacturing (required)
Strong understanding of plating chemistry, electrical current control, and process specifications
Ability to read and interpret work instructions, technical documents, and blueprints in English
Commitment to safety, quality, and precision in a regulated manufacturing environment
Pay Details: $20.00 to $30.00 per hour
