Summary:
The Quality Engineer supports and drives continuous quality improvement initiatives by analyzing data, monitoring manufacturing processes, maintaining quality standards, and implementing corrective and preventive actions. This role partners cross-functionally with production, engineering, maintenance, suppliers, and leadership teams to improve product quality, process stability, and operational performance.
Level placement (I, II, or Sr.) will be determined based on education, experience, technical knowledge, and demonstrated competencies.
Responsibilities:
Support daily quality operations and oversee inspection activities across production areas
Investigate quality concerns and submit non-conformance reports (NCRs) as needed
Drive corrective and preventive actions to resolve quality issues
Analyze production and inspection data to identify trends, root causes, and improvement opportunities
Monitor and maintain Statistical Process Control (SPC) systems and quality metrics
Support continuous improvement initiatives focused on yield, defect reduction, and process optimization
Collaborate with cross-functional teams regarding process, material, equipment, and dimensional changes
Support 4M change management activities and validation processes
Develop, revise, and maintain quality documentation including work instructions, control plans, and inspection standards
Train operators and team members on quality standards, procedures, and process changes
Support internal, customer, and external audits
Communicate quality concerns, updates, and performance metrics to leadership and stakeholders, including HQ support as needed
Ensure accurate and standardized data collection and reporting
Maintain cleanliness at work-site in accordance with 5S3R Standards:
Sort, Set in order, Shine, Standardize, Sustain
Right Location, Right Quantity, Right Container
Perform other duties as assigned
Qualifications:
Bachelor's degree in Engineering or related technical field required
Degrees in Chemical, Mechanical, Electrical, Industrial Engineering, Computer Science, or related disciplines preferred
Equivalent combination of education and relevant experience may be considered
Lean Six Sigma Green Belt or Black Belt certification preferred
Experience:
Level I
0-3 years of quality engineering or related manufacturing experience
Level I
3-6+ years of quality engineering or related manufacturing experience
Experience leading quality improvement initiatives preferred
Sr Level
6+ years of quality engineering experience in a manufacturing environment
Experience leading complex quality investigations, process improvements, and cross-functional projects preferred
All Levels
Experience with core quality documents including PFMEA, Control Plans, and SOPs
Experience with Statistical Process Control (SPC)
Experience with 4M change management processes
Automotive, battery, or high-volume manufacturing experience preferred
Skills:

Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a fast-paced environment
Effective communication and stakeholder management skills
Project and process management skills
Technically proficient with a continuous improvement mindset
Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite
Minitab experience preferred
Knowledge of Lean Manufacturing and Six Sigma methodologies preferred
