The Otsego County Commission on Aging (OCCOA) Advocacy Department, in Gaylord, Michigan, is seeking a caring and compassionate Advocacy Services Administrative Assistant to join our team. The ideal candidate will be friendly, self-motivated, learn easily and quickly, provide exceptional customer service, possess basic technology skills, and assist the department with administrative tasks, in the spirit of teamwork and professionalism.
Responsibilities:
- Provide information and assistance to clients
- Handle incoming phone calls professionally and efficiently
- Schedule appointments and manage calendars
- Perform filing and data entry tasks
- Generate and submit reports as required
- Adhere to organization policies and procedures
- Collaborate effectively with team members
Qualifications:
- High school diploma required; associate or bachelor’s degree preferred
- Experienced with phone systems, data entry, databases, and calendars
- Basic proficiency in MS 365 (Outlook, Excel, Word)
- Prior experience in customer service is a plus
- Valid driver's license and reliable transportation
Required Competencies:
- Excellent customer service skills (friendly and professional)
- Self-motivated and able to learn easily and quickly
- Organizational and teamwork skills
- Ability to multitask and prioritize effectively
Work Schedule:
- 26 hours per week
- Monday through Friday
