Daycare Assistant
Grandma’s House Childcare is seeking caring, energetic, and dependable Daycare Assistants to join our team. We have multiple assistant positions available across our infant, toddler, and preschool classrooms. Job Summary
The Daycare Assistant supports lead teachers in providing safe, engaging, and developmentally appropriate care for infants, toddlers, and preschool-aged children. This role helps maintain daily routines, supports classroom activities, and contributes to a positive and structured learning environment.
Key Responsibilities
- Assist with daily classroom routines including meals, diapering/toileting, and nap time
- Support lead teachers with lesson activities and learning centers
- Engage children in age-appropriate play, learning, and social interaction
- Maintain a safe, clean, and organized classroom environment
- Supervise children at all times to ensure safety and well-being
- Use positive guidance and behavior redirection techniques
- Support emotional, social, and developmental growth of children
- Communicate respectfully and work collaboratively with staff
- Assist with observations and basic documentation when needed
- Follow all licensing rules, safety procedures, and classroom policies
Requirements
- Must be at least 18–19 years old (per state requirements)
- High school diploma or GED preferred
- Experience in childcare preferred (infant, toddler, or preschool experience a plus)
- Must meet background check and health requirements
- CPR/First Aid certification preferred or willingness to obtain
- Ability to remain active, attentive, and engaged in a fast-paced environment
- Positive attitude, patience, and strong teamwork skills
Schedule
- Part-time and full-time positions available
- Minimum of 6 hours per day depending on placement
- Flexible scheduling when possible
