The Project Specialist is tasked with the efficient operation and completion of Time and Material jobs from project hand off from the T&M Manager to customer satisfaction at the completion of the project. This may be done solo or may include management of helpers, subs, or others to ensure the project meets specifications in terms of scope, safety, and budget.
You should possess great hand dexterity and an eye for detail, being able to work with little supervision and follow all health and safety standards. We also expect you to have good knowledge of wood properties and other carpentry materials and practices.

Project Specialist (PS) requirements are:
Use blueprints, drawings and sketches and follow the requirements
Calculate the size and amount of material needed after performing all necessary measurements
Cut, shape and smooth lumber and other material (such as fiberglass) according to measurements
Create window frames, doors, staircases and frame buildings by using raw materials or pre-constructed items
Install floorings, roofings or drywalls ensuring they are leveled and compatible
Create and assemble furniture, cabinets, shelves and other items and install them where designated
Review places and conduct repairs or maintenance
Install scaffolding and other construction structures, as needed
Ability to grasp scope of project and recognize necessary tools and materials needed to start projects
Trouble shooting and tracking down problems such as leaks, rodent access, attic venting issues, etc.
Some knowledge and ability with plumbing, electrical, mechanical, drywall, masonry, painting, various floorings and countertop materials, and other construction related trades
Excellent problem solving and critical thinking with proven multi-tasker and decision making abilities
Be punctual, loyal, safety, goal and detail oriented, organized and have a good personal appearance and habits
Valid Michigan Driver's License and clean driving record, have or have the ability to pass the exam for DOT Medical Examiner Card
Certified Lead Safe Renovator and trained in Asbestos safety (company provided, where needed)
First Aid and CPR Trained (company provided, where needed)
Be a team player, ability to work independently, learn, follow, and enforce company policies and standards, embrace new duties and responsibilities and be client service oriented
Have the ability to clearly communicate, interact with supervisor(s), leadership team, crew members, trade partners, suppliers and clients effectively
Proven track record of bringing a variety of projects to timely and effective conclusions
Ability to use Smart Phone, tablets, email, Microsoft Word, Outlook and other computer programs and software commonly used in the remodeling industry
Hands-on experience in residential or commercial remodeling
