Description
We are looking for a Sr. Accountant to support client-facing accounting projects in Grand Rapids, Michigan. Responsibilities:
Manage monthly close activities, including preparing journal entries and ensuring deadlines are met accurately.
Reconcile general ledger accounts and investigate discrepancies to maintain reliable financial records.
Prepare financial statements and related supporting schedules for internal and client reporting needs.
Analyze budget-to-actual results and explain monthly variances to support business decisions.
Assist with forecasting and budgeting efforts by compiling data, reviewing trends, and updating projections.
Use advanced Excel tools to organize, validate, and analyze accounting information efficiently.
Adapt to different accounting systems and client environments while maintaining consistency and accuracy in deliverables.
Collaborate with finance teams and business partners to improve reporting quality and support ongoing accounting projects.
Requirements - Bachelor's degree in accounting, finance, or a related field.
Strong proficiency in Microsoft Excel, including advanced spreadsheet and data analysis functions.
Hands-on experience with month-end close, journal entries, account reconciliations, and financial reporting.
Background in budgeting, forecasting, and variance analysis within an accounting environment.
Experience working in industries such as automotive, manufacturing, healthcare, or nonprofit is valued.
Familiarity with large ERP platforms such as Oracle, NetSuite, Microsoft Dynamics, PeopleSoft, Great Plains, Epicor, Plex, or similar systems.
An accounting certification is preferred but not required.
