Job Summary:
We are seeking a Maintenance Group Leader to support a high-volume automotive components manufacturing plant, leading a team of skilled trades responsible for maintaining and improving equipment reliability. This role will operate in a precision machining environment, supporting CNC and robotic systems, with a strong emphasis on troubleshooting, repair, and continuous equipment improvement. The ideal candidate will act as a servant leader, fostering a culture of teamwork, safety, and quality while driving uptime and operational excellence.
Responsibilities:
Lead and supervise a team of skilled trades (electricians, machine repair, millwrights, pipefitters) supporting plant operations
Foster a team-oriented, safety-first culture, ensuring strong engagement and support of hourly employees
Oversee maintenance and repair of precision machining equipment, including CNC machines and interconnected robotic systems
Drive hands-on troubleshooting and repair efforts for equipment failures to minimize downtime and maintain production flow
Partner with controls and engineering teams to resolve automation, robotics, and equipment performance issues
Support electrical team members focused on robot programming and pendant-based operations
Manage day-to-day operations for assigned teams, including scheduling, task assignment, and performance oversight
Handle administrative responsibilities including timekeeping, reporting (Excel/PowerPoint), and performance documentation
Support labor relations by working with UAW team leads and union representatives on employee issues and disciplinary actions
Drive continuous improvement initiatives focused on uptime, equipment reliability, and process efficiency
Compensation Starting At: $30 Exact compensation may vary based on several factors, including skills, experience, and education. Benefit packages for this role will start on the 31st day of employment and include medical, dental, and vision insurance, as well as HSA, FSA, and DCFSA account options, and 401k retirement account access with employer matching. Employees in this role are also entitled to paid sick leave and/or other paid time off as provided by applicable law.

Skills and Requirements
2+ years experience leading a maintenance team
Automotive manufacturing experience (preferably in a components or machining environment)
Mechanical and electrical troubleshooting experience
Strong commitment to safety and quality-driven operations
Experience working in or supporting a union (UAW) environment
Proven leadership experience with a servant leadership mindset
Strong communication and team-oriented approach - Experience supporting precision machining, CNC equipment, and robotics
Exposure to robot programming (pendant) or automated systems
Experience working alongside controls and engineering teams
