The Facilities Technician assists the Facilities Manager in providing safe, functional, clean, efficient and attractive facilities. Responsibilities include work involving, general carpentry, furniture installation, painting, and day-to-day building maintenance.
DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES include the following:
Respond to work orders by means of logging into a computer/ tablet/ or other handheld device or verbal or written direction from the supervisor
Perform trouble shooting procedures to diagnose the cause of a repair
Repair or replace defective equipment parts, using hand tools and power tools, and reassemble equipment.
Perform routine preventive maintenance to ensure each building continues to run smoothly, building systems operate efficiently, or the physical condition of buildings does not deteriorate
Perform basic commercial flooring repairs
Perform basic wall repairs (patching of drywall and painting)
Troubleshoot and repair roof leaks
Perform basic plumbing diagnostics and trouble shoot clogged drains and leaking pipes
Researches and maintains parts and tool inventories
Researches and maintains attic stock inventories
Knowledge of building life safety systems, including emergency generators and fire panels
Modular furniture installation including ergonomic adjustments to furniture assembly and/or disassembly of commercial modular furniture systems
Fully understand and adhere to local and state building codes including ADA standards
Fully understand and adhere to Peckham Facilities Standards
Basic knowledge of Windows operating systems
Read blueprints, drawings and specification to assist with diagnosing a repair
Maintain a safe and clean work environment - Daily

Applicant must have the ability to record daily tasks, checklists, record PM, and utilize a work order system by means of a cell phone application or computer
SHIFT
Normal work hours for this position is 7:00 am - 3:30 pm and subject to immediate schedule adjustment and /or overtime to accommodate emergency repairs. This position will rotate with other technicians on an on-call status.
TRAVEL REQUIREMENTS
This position will regularly travel between Peckham facilities in MI
PHYSICAL DEMANDS
The employee must frequently lift and/or move up to 25 pounds and occasionally lift and/or move up to 100 pounds. Specific vision abilities required by this job include color vision. Reasonable accommodations may be made to enable individuals with disabilities to perform the essential functions.
WORK ENVIRONMENT
While performing the duties of this job the employee is regularly exposed to moving mechanical parts. The employee is occasionally exposed to fumes or airborne particles. The noise level in the work environment can be loud. The employee will regulary be accessing roofs and frequently using ladders and lifts.
